ILERA ESPERANTO
Contest
esperanto
- bona ideo
Objective: To make known Esperanto to other hams and shortwave listeners and to show how much fun Esperanto can be. Indeed this is the safest way to hear Esperanto on the air. Esperantists are by far more active here than anywhere else. It's not like a classical contest, expect no more than a few dozen contacts in 48 hours, only the very enthusiastic reach a hundred contacts. Try 14266 kHz first since it is the most active frequency. The contest is also a good opportunity to collect points for the Esperanto Award.
To be held every year third weekend in November, 0000 UT Sat. - 2400 UT on Sun. (20 hours of QRX required).
Category: "single operator, multi band".
Use all bands 1.8 through 28 MHz except WARC. The same station may be worked once per band.
Exchange: RS and serial number starting 001 in the ESPERANTO language.
Note: All you have to know are the numbers of Esperanto :
1 = unu, 2 = du, 3 = tri, 4 = kvar, 5 = kvin, 6 = ses, 7 = sep(en), 8 = ok, 9 = nau, 10 = dek
(Pronounce: oonoo, doo, tree, quaar, quinn, ses, sep, ock, now, deck, ... sorry, this is just an unscientific approximation).
Scoring: Each contact counts one point.
Logs must show: time UT, call, sent and received RS(T) and serial numbers.
Entries should be sent to ... - PLEASE sent them even if you just make a single contact: NEW !!!!
